We started in the Summer 2020 as a commercial MMJ farm in NE Oklahoma. Things went great until around 2023. By 2023, the Oklahoma MMJ industry was having a rough time. There was massive overproduction and very low barriers to entry. Prices dropped, supply increased, and regulations started tightening. The cost to do business was rising along with the grower license count. All the while, prices were cratering. Can you guess what happens next?
We're out!
Because we have other income streams, the MMJ industry no longer seemed to make much sense. A lot of labor, a lot of government nonsense, and a flooded market with prices cratering.
After just a few years, we decided to call it. The final straw was the government demanding we put a handicap bathroom into our metal building. Mind you, our property is private and closed to the public.
What do we do with this farm now?
Well, we now have a couple acres of irrigated field plus an indoor building with drainage and a ton of lights…what else can we do? We obviously have to grow something, but what?
Not sure exactly how we landed on fruit bushes, but that’s what we chose. So we are now a small but growing fruit farm, specializing in bare root fruit bushes and a growing list of other types of plants and shrubs.
Variety and cost control is our priority
We think paying $10 or $20 for a single bush is too much. Plants, shrubs, and fruit bushes are too easy to propagate, why are the prices so high?
